golden light absolutely pouring out of a window warm and soft.
there is a differentiating magic in schools of different countries
the east of asia having youthful joy and suffering floating in bubbles
maybe an indoctrinated magic maybe not
i wanted to eat that light
have it put down my throat and choke me
drown me
encase me in a warm crystal to stand there forever under that umbrella of warmth
there's a roof behind that light
a roof that was created for adolescents to lounge in
maybe one day
maybe never
but it exists
the roof exists
and i got to see the light of dreams
the books, the movies, the shows
that all try so hard to capture that high school magic
it's real
it exists
in small moments
in warm cushioning enveloping light
the shrieks the laughs footsteps pattering up and down stairs
girlhood arms linking giggles erupting
boyhood shoving pulling each other back up
jokes always.
intermixing
inter-tangling
it's all so
dreamy
maybe I see beauty in everything because i never have it for long
it's a sign of stability if you no longer see beauty in your surroundings
if you don't notice it
because it's yours to keep
for however long you wish
the beauty remains if you stay and turn away.
the beauty remains if you leave and look back.
